Chunky Striped Cushion Knitting Pattern

You will need:



10mm straight knitting needles

Patons Fab Big Yarn in Wine (200g) and Cream (200g)

Crochet hook

Polyester toy filling (I used this as I struggled to find a cushion pad to fit this cushion. Alternatively, you can use a cushion pad, but it should measure 14inches by 14inches)



Method:


Cast on 32 stitches using Cream (C) wool.

Row 1 - Purl

Row 2- Knit

Rows 3,5,7,9,11,13 - P2 (p1, k1)

Rows 4,6,8,10,12,14 - K2 (k1, p1)


Change to Wine (W) wool.

Row 15 - P2 (p1, k1)

Row 16 - K2 (k1, p1)

Row 17 - P2 (p1, k1,)

Row 18 - K2 (k1, p1)


Change to C wool

Row 19 - P2 (p1, k1)

Row 20 - K2 (k1, p1)

Row 21 - P2 (p1, k1,)

Row 22 - K2 (k1, p1)


Change to W wool

Rows 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33 - P2 (p1, k1)

Rows 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34 - K2 (k1, p1)


Change to C wool

Row 35 - P2 (p1, k1)

Row 36 - K2 (k1, p1)

Row 37 - P2 (p1, k1,)

Row 38 - K2 (k1, p1)


Change to W wool

Row 39 - P2 (p1, k1)

Row 40 - K2 (k1, p1)

Row 41 - P2 (p1, k1,)

Row 42 - K2 (k1, p1)


Change to C wool

Rows 43, 45, 47, 49, 51, 53 - P2 (p1, k1)

Rows 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54 - K2 (k1, p1)


Row 55 - Knit

Row 56 - Purl


Cast off.


Sew the top and two sides up using either colour yarn - I used half cream and half white.

Stuff the cushion/Insert the cushion pad.

Sew up the bottom edge.
